. . . since I last wrote a journal, and over 4 months since I last visited DA . . . long break for me, and hopefully not to be repeated.

Apophysis is on hiatus for me, for some reason my new employers (since last November) decided I wanted a Macbook Pro, and I don't have any of my fractal toolkit for it - also I haveto learn a bunch of new stuff including getting good at a new programming language. So my "me time" to and from work is currently concentrating on saving the whale. Seriously I am currently on a leaderboad position 9 out of 130 or so coders looking for best way to detect Southern Right Whales from automated recording buoys - it's a fun challenge, and maybe one day I can use the same sort of code for graphics.
