Fossil Spiral by slobo777 Fossil Spiral by slobo777
A fractal flame, with post-processing.

To me, looks like a very old fractal that has been fossilised in slate.

Thanks. Yes, I should really re-sample this down so it's not so large and blurry in full view, I hadn't noticed before . . . (it's one of the first I made).

I've found that sometimes a slight rotation left or right with the ''Rotate Step 2'' can make a difference on occasion. That or looking to see if there are two triangles positioned over one another with one slightly to one side or another of the other and then reposition one of them to sharpen up the image. It varies between flames. You just have to experiment to see what works. That and a lot of the " Control + Z " while messing around to correct mistakes. :D
Another thing that I do is to render the images larger and then just reduce the size in post editing to sharpen up the image. :D

Thanks very much for the tips.

I'm definitely spending more and more time in the triangle editor and less time writing scripts nowadays.

LOL Those scripts are beyond my expertise, so, I enjoy using a good one of them at times. :D

Thank you. It's one of my first, but still a personal favourite - if I could make this bigger I'd have a print myself. I've stopped doing the heavy post-processing, mainly because the software for it crashes with larger print-size images. If I could fix that, I'd do more like this one.
