I kept holding off from uploading this, because I wanted to make better documentation for what is a very complex variation.

I hope it can be of use as-is. I'm including some notes on the new "modes", a file of examples and two scripts to help generate synth-based flames.

I tried running your batch script, but the variable synth_smooth is not included in the synth plugin I have. Is there an updated version of the synth plugin?

You are right the script will not work with the first version of Synth - you need to retire the old DLL and copy the new shiny one form the zip file!

The new DLL is in the download (or at least it should be!)
